WhatsApp is testing several new features, some of which are gradually rolling out. Here’s what to expect:
1. Simplified Group & Community Creation
Beta (Android 2.25.1.11) introduces a streamlined way to create groups, chats, and communities from the Chats tab, removing the floating action button in Communities for a cleaner interface.
2. Website Icons in Shared Links
Beta (Android 2.25.1.13) adds favicons (website icons) to shared links, making it easier to identify sources.
3. AI-Powered Chats Tab
Beta (Android 2.25.1.24) replaces the Communities tab with an AI-powered section, giving users access to Meta’s AI tools and third-party assistants for productivity and entertainment.
4. Chat Events
Beta (Android 2.25.1.18) lets users create and share event invitations in individual chats, including name, date, time, location, and optional virtual meeting links.
5. Photo Polls
Beta (Android 2.25.1.17) allows users to attach images to poll options for better clarity. All poll choices must have images for consistency.
6. AI Chatbots
Beta (Android 2.25.1.26) enables users to create AI chatbots with custom personalities and roles, offering templates for easy setup.
7. Chat Message Animations Control (iOS)
